Mission Statement
The Board of Health is charged with the responsibility of protecting the heath of the public by adopting heatlh regulations pursuant to Massachusetts General Law. To fulfill its duties, it must access th needs of the community and develop, plan and implement programs, which will prevent illness and promote wellness, while enforcing public health laws. This is achieved through community outreach with an emphasis on awareness, education and prevention. Through the Health Department's broad vision, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive plan, such an immunization programs, reducing smoking amongst adolescents with stronger regulations. Grant programs through the Department of
Public Health, Federal Bioterrisom Program and the Water Pollution Trust, all of these programs are currently in progress.
