The new 7th Edition of the Massachusetts Building Code is effective as of January 1, 2008!
Mission Statement
The Building Inspector's Office enforces state building, electrical, plumbing, gas and mechanical codes, as well as local zoning by-laws and Architectural Access Board Regulations. Staff issue permits, inspect construction sites, conduct periodic safety inspections of multi-family dwellings, restaurants, schools, religious institutions, museums, and other places of assembly, and levy fines or prosecute when necessary to obtain code compliance.
